Drawing in 2020 is an act of strength, a stance, a statement. The different readings, inside the work, help me to be classic, ancient, obsolete, and finally anti-contemporary.

The sign is a documentation, a diary, precise, on the contemplation of the gesture.

About Landscape (Thought number One)

Ballpoint Pen on Cardboard, 30 x 21 cm, January 2020

The suggestion of the landscape is one of the most natural expedients to represent an idea of depth.
An expedient, if we want, that allows the sign to express itself, within a recognizable connotation, also conveying a parallel and disorganized narration with respect to the formal indication of a given landscape.
So signs that do not tell that themselves, enclosed within the landscape acquire meaning regardless and can, if necessary, be identified as not belonging to it but totally detached if expertly isolated.

To painting a live portrait you have to consider time and space and, what space and what time you want to occupy after the portrait is finished. I find my mother eternal within me and partially present on the canvas. The rest is a matter of light and dark without ever being tempted to use black.
