“Caligo” Biroscape #230
0The presence of a mild flow from the south generated by a reinforcement of the African subtropical anticyclone gives rise to “Caligo”, a Ligurian dialect term, which defines a condition that verifies where the sea surface is cold, so as to cool, as much as possible, the low layers of the atmosphere immediately next to the surface of the sea. The sea water on contact with the mild air flowing over the surface evaporates and tends to condense rapidly thus forming tiny droplets of steam; if the air temperature reaches the dew point the fog is formed that is pushed on the coasts by sea breezes.

Alberto Repetti’s Ballpoint pen drawings win the Art Room Gallery On Line Competition: DRAWING, october 2018
0I’m very happy to announce that four of my ballpoint pen drawings got FIRST PLACE in the first competition reserved for the ART ROOM GALLERY
Our first Art competition “Drawing” started in October 2018 and concluded on November 20, 2018. Art Room Gallery received entries from many countries around the world: USA, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Poland, Taiwan, Italy, Germany, Ireland. The Drawing theme in this competition included a diversity in types, styles and mediums (graphite on paper, pencil, chalk, ballpoint pen on cardboard, charcoal and ink on paper, mixed media, digital, pencil, ink on yuko paper, graphite pencil, drawing, watercolor and color pencil). The following evaluation criteria has been used for judging the artwork: creativity, interpretation of the theme, originality and quality of art, overall design, demonstration of artistic ability, and usage of medium. Jury decided to select 44 artworks for inclusion in the exhibition. Aside from First, Second, and Third place Jury also presented Merit awards.
